On April 8, 2026, hundreds of protestors gathered outside the United States Consulate in Montreal demanding an end to the war in the Middle East.
The protest came after a ceasefire was announced between the United States and Iran, and as Israeli strikes killed hundreds in Lebanon.
The gathering was organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement and the Iranian Canadian Congress.
Mona Ghassemi, president of the ICC wants Canada to denounce the war and open a diplomatic relationship with Iran.
