People Over Profit Panel

cutv_admin | February 25, 2023

How can we restructure the economy to put people over profit, and how do we reckon with a capitalist system based on infinite growth and expansion?

On February 21st at Co-op Bar Milton Parc, a group of activists and academics met up to discuss just that in the panel discussion “People over profit: Alternatives to a growth economy.” The panel discussion was moderated by Concordia professor Bengi Akbulut, featuring Yves Marie Abraham from the University of Montreal, Karine Awashish of Co-op Nitaskinan, Jon Mcphedran-Waitzer from the Resource Movement Community Group, and Leonora Indira King from the Parc Ex Curry Collective.
