Rally for Pay Raise Against Inflation for TAs and RAs!

cutv_admin | December 14, 2022

On Wednesday, November 30th, over 50 Concordia teaching assistants (TA’s), research assistants (RA’s), and allies gathered on the Concordia campus to protest for higher pay and better working conditions. This protest was organized by the TA and RA union (TRAC), with support from the CSU (Concordia Student Union). TRAC will soon be negotiating with the University to push for a liveable wage. But in the meantime, TA’s and RA’s are taking to the streets to demand change and fight for their rights.

Currently, TA’s at Concordia are being paid $29 an hour for an average of 5-15 hours of work per week. This is less than TA’s at both McGill University in Montreal ($33 per hour) and the University of Toronto ($49 per hour).

To learn more and support the cause, check out the TRAC website trac-union.ca. This video was brought to you by Taylor Murray, one of our grassroots coverage fund contributors.
