Equal Pay Protest

cutv_admin | May 25, 2021

On May 22, members of the APTS-FIQ alliance gathered to protest against the devaluation of women-dominated industries such as public health by the Quebec Government. The demonstration comes after 18 months of negotiations with the Government of Quebec surrounding the request of a 7.4 percent wage increase. This demonstration marks the fourth decline of Quebec’s counteroffer of an increase in wage of 5 percent. The APTS-FIQ alliance has 131 000 members, 85 percent of which are women.
