In this workshop we will be exploring the intersections between art and activism and looking at successful social movements that utilized art to mobilize for their cause. Stefan will be drawing from his own experience as an activist, media maker and artist, including his involvement with the campaign to advocate for dollarama warehouse workers (street art for this campaign can be found here), his collaborations with Wet’suwet’en activist Marlene Hale, and his involvement with the #Musiciansforpalestine campaign.
As a long time community organizer, Stefan has contributed to numerous efforts within Montreal, most notably the fight for migrant rights as well as helping the Palestinian effort as an active member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). Stefan is also the host of “Free City Radio” which can be found on CJLO and CKUT.
