Kate McQuade, the “meme queen” behind the 25,000-follower Instagram meme page @jean.paul.fartre, discusses:

What are memes? What makes a good one? And why do they matter?

In this workshop Kate will unveil her meme making process, the politics behind memes, and will collaboratively create a meme with workshop participants.

Kate McQuade is a Concordia political science student and founder of the zine Nice in Theory. Kate has run the Montreal Instagram meme page @jean.paul.fartre since 2017. When she’s not making memes, Kate is cooking for those she loves and catching up on the latest season of The Bachelor.
