Muslim women speak out against Quebec’s exclusionary policies
While many policy moves against Muslim women were under the CAQ over the last eight years, the legislative history of othering Muslims in Quebec can be traced back to 2013 and Bill 60 or the Quebec charter of values by then PQ leader Pauline Marois which laid out the banning of religious garments by civil servants, judges, teachers, police officers and healthcare workers.
In this Local 514 video report, protesters share their experiences of discrimination and explain why they keep speaking out for their right to work despite being scapegoated by various political parties.
A special report by Norah Finlay and Sophie Bonneville exclusively for Local 514.
